As of June 2019, CR has been cancelled until further noticed … Every Tuesday beginning @ 6:00 PM, we have Celebrate Recovery Big Night. We have dinner @ 6:00 PM followed by Praise & Worship Time. Then we break off into small group time. Right after small group, we gather together in the cafe for dessert & fellowship! Make plans to come join us!
Celebrate Recovery is a ministry designed to help hurting people. It is made up of regular folks like you and me, who are on a journey toward wholeness; seeking recovery from and celebrating God’s healing of life’s hurts, habits and hang- ups. Trained leaders provide safe, confidential, Christ-centered groups where people can grow. They offer their stories as fellow travelers on the journey to healing. At Celebrate Recovery we believe that change is possible by the power of Jesus Christ through this Biblical program.
At Lakewood Baptist Church, we envision becoming a church that is dependent on prayer in all that we do.
We envision developing all our people-new believers as well as established believers-into fully functioning followers of Christ through Biblical preaching and teaching in worship, Sunday School, Discipleship Training, educational ministries, and special events.
We envision a time of anticipation and expectation of meeting our God in all our worship gatherings.
We envision sharing the good news of Jesus Christ’s death and and resurrection with our unchurched family members, friends, and people in our community, city, county, and world. We expect many of these to accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
We envision becoming a church where all people model Biblical community; a safe place where we accept one another and are accepted, love and are loved, shepherd and are shepherded, encourage and are encouraged, forgive and are forgiven, and serve and are served.
We envision helping all people-youth as well as adults-to discover their divine designs so that they are equipped to serve Christ effectively in ministry and missions both inside and outside our church. Our goal is that every member be a minister.
We envision being a church that finds common ground in Jesus Christ for diverse racial, cultural, economic and generational distinctives.
We envision being a church that brings healing and restoration into hurting lives, marriages, and families by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We envision actively raising up and equipping leaders for our church, our ministries, and our missions.
We envision recruiting, training, and sending out many of our members as missionaries, church planters, and church workers all over the world. We also see our people pursuing short-term missions service in various countries. We envision planting a church in America or abroad every five years.
We envision facilities that are continually updated and adapted to allow full utilization of our resources in support of our ministries.
We envision that Lakewood Baptist Church will be the center of our community, an island of peace and an outpost of grace, destroying the work of the evil one and being a positive influence for the kingdom of God in the lives of future generations.

Prayer For Serenity
God, grant me serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference: Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time: accepting hardship as a pathway to peace: talking as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it: trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will: so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen
