“For this is contained in Scripture:

Behold I lay in Zion a choice stone,

A precious corner stone,

And He who believes in Him

Shall not be disappointed.”    1 Peter 2:6 (NAS)

Have you ever been disappointed with Jesus?

Maybe you have. Maybe we all have. The Scripture, however, says that if we are disappointed with Jesus it is because we have never failed to believe in Him.

Following our own plans, our own agenda, and our own visions will always being disappointment. When Jesus spoke the word “believe” it had the meaning “to Commit.” Our success as His body is always tied to our commitment to His plans. He agenda and His vision.

A worldly, comfortable “Jesus” will lead to disaster in the family, the community, and the church. The Lord came preaching, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

The hard-edged message of repentance is also the beautiful gospel of Jesus. Our satisfaction with our Lord is dependent upon our turning from our own ways.

Praise God now for the wondrous work He has done and is about to do in our church!

EXPECT the Lord to move for His glory in our services this week!
